Welcome to Intentional Growth Path Psychotherapy. These Terms and Conditions (“Terms”) outline how this practice operates and what you can expect when using our website, online services, or engaging in therapy.

By visiting this site or beginning psychotherapy, you acknowledge that you’ve read and understood these Terms and agree to them. They exist to support clear communication, mutual respect, and a safe therapeutic environment.

2. About the Practice

Intentional Growth Path Psychotherapy provides individual psychotherapy services to clients across Ontario, Canada. Sessions may take place virtually or in person, depending on your needs and location.

This practice is grounded in compassion, collaboration, and respect, creating space for you to explore challenges, develop insight, and nurture personal growth at your own pace.

3. Eligibility

Clients must generally be 16 years or older to access psychotherapy independently.

If you are under 16, a parent or legal guardian will need to provide consent and, when appropriate, participate in the process.

All services are offered voluntarily; therapy is most effective when entered into with willingness and mutual commitment.

4. Health Disclaimer

Information shared on this website, including articles, blog posts, or downloadable materials, is provided for general educational purposes only. It is not a substitute for a personalized mental health assessment or treatment.

A therapeutic relationship is established only after an intake consultation, mutual agreement to begin therapy, and completion of informed consent forms.

5. Appointments and Client Responsibilities

When scheduling therapy sessions, you agree to:

  • Provide current, accurate information

  • Arrive or log in at the scheduled time

  • Communicate with honesty and respect

  • Use the time for your own therapeutic process

  • Follow the cancellation policy when needed

If challenges arise that affect therapy, such as financial difficulties, scheduling, or safety concerns, we can openly discuss options for continued care or referral.

6. Fees and Payment

Current session fees will be shared before services begin and confirmed in writing or at intake.

  • Payment is due at the time of each session, unless another arrangement has been discussed.

  • Direct billing is not available, but you will receive a receipt that may be submitted to your insurance provider.

Outstanding balances must be settled before new sessions can be scheduled.

7. Cancellation Policy

Your session time is reserved specifically for you. If you need to cancel or reschedule, please provide at least 48 hours’ notice.

Cancellations with less notice, or missed appointments, may be charged the full session fee except in emergencies or unforeseen circumstances.

Repeated missed sessions may result in a pause or termination of services, which will always be discussed with care and transparency.

8. Privacy and Confidentiality

Your confidentiality is a cornerstone of therapy. All personal and health information collected is managed in compliance with the Personal Health Information Protection Act (PHIPA) and other applicable privacy laws.

Please note that there are legal exceptions to confidentiality, such as concerns about imminent harm, abuse of a child, or a court order requiring disclosure.

9. Virtual Sessions / Telehealth

Online therapy allows for flexible access to care across Ontario. By participating in virtual sessions, you agree to:

  • Use a secure, private, and quiet space for sessions

  • Avoid recording or sharing sessions without written consent

  • Understand that occasional technical issues may occur

While the technology platform used is secure and encrypted, no online service can guarantee 100% privacy. You are encouraged to take precautions on your end to protect your information.

10. Website Use and Intellectual Property

All written materials, blog posts, and resources on the Intentional Growth Path Psychotherapy website are original intellectual property and are protected by copyright laws.

You are welcome to read, share, or reference content for personal use but may not reproduce, edit, or redistribute it without permission. Please use the website responsibly and refrain from any unlawful or disruptive activity.

11. Limitation of Liability

Services and information provided, whether online or in session, are offered in good faith and within the boundaries of professional ethics.

Intentional Growth Path Psychotherapy is not liable for:

  • Outcomes that depend on factors outside the therapeutic space

12. Termination of Services

You may end therapy at any time. Therapy may also be ended or paused by the therapist when:

  • The work has reached a natural conclusion

  • Participation, payment, or attendance becomes inconsistent

  • Safety or ethical concerns arise

  • Referral to another provider would better support your needs

Whenever possible, the decision to end therapy will be discussed collaboratively, with referrals provided as appropriate.

13. Governing Law

These Terms are governed by the laws of the Province of Ontario and the laws of Canada that apply within it. Any disputes will be resolved through Ontario courts.

14. Changes to These Terms

These Terms may be updated periodically to reflect changes in policy, legal requirements, or practice operations. The revised version will be posted on this page with an updated effective date. Continuing to use the website or services implies acceptance of the current Terms.
